..and honor my dear friend Heather.

Heather and I met when we were 11 years old. Heather is a very special girl. For starters, she is completely crazy. wild. fun. She's known for her spazmatic antics and unpredictability. Can you pick out which girl she is in the image above? Heather is also special because.. she was born with a hole in her heart the size of a dime and has had several surgeries through out her life.
Today marks 24 years from her first open heart surgery at a mere 6 months old. Luckily for all of us, she is healthy, happy, and has given the world a beautiful little boy, Tyler Mac.
Throughout our 13 years, we've grown up.. grown apart.. and found each other time and again. If I was in a jam.. I know I could count on her to help me out and vice-a-versa. We laugh together.. cry together.. and scream at each other. We confide in each other and call each other out. We've had quite a roller coaster friendship.. but when it came down to it.. we've always been there for each other when times were hard and I will always cherish her friendship. Through the good.. and the bad.. and the ugly :)
So here's to you HEC. May you have many more years of health and happiness ahead of you. I love you and I'm grateful to have you in my life!

A very sweet and touching tribute, BG! To know Spazz is to love her. Sometimes to want to strangle her...lol, but certainly to love her!
ReplyDeleteYou two have some funny stories between you and I'm glad you always find your way back to each other and your friendship!
Just don't lock her in a room! ha ha ha...
Hello, what a lovely blog you have here. Heavenly header too ! I've so enjoyed reading your posts and looking through your pictures - you are so very talented.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much and best wishes
Yes, I can tell who she is.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I left this really awesome comment on your last post and when I was about to post it, I watched in Harry Potter horror (sorry, couldn't resist) as the on/off buttom of my computer flickered feably off, on and then off due to the pushing fingers of my 18 month old son.
So, here I go again...I mostly haven't gotten into Harry Potter because it has to do with magic and mysticism. And, ironically enough, my husband and I were on a fabulous date at a Barnes and Noble bookstore when we encountered the Harry Potter phenomenom first hand. One of the things we like to do is drink coffee and hang out at book stores and read books together. So on this one particular Friday, the bookstore was packed with people dressed up as characters in the Harry Potter book. They were waiting for the release of the newest book, which, in turn, allowed us to extend our date longer at the bookstore, because the bookstore was open longer for the Harry Potter release of the new book. So, although we haven't seen Harry Potter ourselves, It was thanks to him that we had an interesting and extended date.
